In the shadow of the new Yankee Stadium survives a wonderful vintage sign that’s so old, it predates the 1970s renovation of the House That Ruth Built.
This sign is charming. For one, the letters S and T in the word “stadium” have vanished. The letters are italicized, to distinguish them from the blocky “LIQUORS” below, which is missing an L.
