Old-school McDonald's, Wendy's, Taco Bell, plus Big Tobacco (well, letters that is), and a sign that belongs on 'The Jetsons' | Retrologist's Road Trip Roundup Part I
Highlights from Delaware, Maryland and Virginia from the start of my pre-Christmas road trip through the Mid-Atlantic and South.
Hello, fellow Retrologists!
I’m now on Day 4 of my adventure that began when I left New York City Monday morning. I’m writing this from Newnan, Georgia, just outside Atlanta, after a day that included visiting Plains, Georgia, the hometown of former President Jimmy Carter, as well as a hop into Alabama. (Expect a full write-up on Plains soon!)
Rather than try to do a big post catching you up on everything all at once, I decided to send out my findings in chunks, starting with a digest of my first day. I hope you enjoy, and if you have any questions or comments, please reach out!
My next update will encompass days 2 and 3, from North Carolina to Georgia, and include a rare Suncoast Video, an old-school Spencers, as well as an amazing Howard Johnson’s relic, a Stuckey’s, a visit to Santa’s hometown (I will explain) and a wonderful fruitcake factory near Santa’s hometown, where they do some of St. Nick’s good work, you will see.
