There are so many reasons to visit Montana. There’s the sky, the mountains, the national parks, the bison, the Kmart.
The Kmart?
Yes, the Kmart.
This Kmart in Hamilton, Montana, inspired my epic trip to Big Sky Country in February 2022.
I had been hoping to visit in the summer, not in the depths of February, but I suddenly had a strict deadline, when news broke that Kmart Store 9808 was closing on March 6, 2022.
A part of life here in the Bitterroot Valley for 33 years, this Kmart was the very last one to feature the classic logo.
