A few years back, I stumbled upon a restaurant on East 58th Street in Manhattan called Coliseum, which preserves a bit of neighborhood history in its name. The New York Coliseum stood across the street from 1954 to 2000, and was razed to make way for the mammoth Time Warner Center (hmmmm, I wonder where the AOL in the name went.)
