This corridor is where the original WTC meets the new one, where eras collide as much as architectural styles. It's the most uncommon of common spaces.
You're welcome Tom! It's a very special place and I'm glad to share it! It's important for people to experience it -- and contemplate its significance.
Thank you for providing this space to make a comment.
I am not a subscriber but I do very much appreciate your very careful and detailed compilation of history..."Inside the last surviving portion of the WTC"... Historical evidence for those who search history and look for answers. I indicate to you and your associates who value and document historical evidence that I am from Canada and am presently in a small Town in British Columbia. Please accept the following as true...
Following is true...and in sincere recognition.... to your most valuable files...for your effort over the many years in putting pictures and explanations together that document the old 2001 WTC Subway access.
Years ago..precisely on Sept 11 2001 and in the dark of the morning out in western Canada on that fateful day...some 3000+- miles distance... I did dream a vision that has remained in such clearness over 23 years....your photos do confirm...an important part of the ever lasting vision and I thank you as I have searched unsuccessfully to confirm that long ago dream....except now this day Nov 17, 2024...Please accept this short note as most true before God...someday when I am able to travel to New York, will seek your guidance to find the precise historical picture of the WTC Subway Station that I was positioned upon in white and bright light and did meet and talk before they moved into time space and dimensions instant...a place most white and bright...excited and questioning...many things they said to each other..many questions they asked each other......and then 2 by 2 they gathered...boarded those side by side subway trains...and traveled into dimensions only known to God...those who guided all thousands...slightly ashen and clothed...in being and form.. chatted..and those..who stood and watched...returned to our place and remember them in forever questioning silence as we grow old...until God... I am now 75 yrs +
I have very clear memories of walking this subway line with my mom and brother at Christmas ‘93 at night to go up to the indoor observation deck in one of the towers. At the time, I was awed that we could get off the subway and be in the Towers without having to go outside. Now I’m awed that it still exists.
That's such a wonderful memory Jeremy. The old WTC and how it was all connected from 110th floor to subway entrances acres away is forever fascinating. I only wish I had explored it more while it was all still with us.
Thank you for this tribute, Rolando. I feel very moved by the image of the old stone next to new tile. Very glad they've kept what they could.
Thank you very much Melanie. I found that contrast very poignant as well.
What a remarkable story. I never knew this or have seen these images. Thanks so much for sharing this.
