This was a beautiful piece, Rolando! Equal parts nostalgic about what the mall once was and pragmatic about what it should be in its next chapter. Good stuff!

Thank you Heath! I really had fun with this one ... I had to force myself to "put down the pencil" or I'd still be writing (and researching) it!

I only spent a brief time in White Plains in 1988. I worked across the street for a spell at the Westchester Financial Center and would frequent the Galleria, mostly the food court for lunch. Thanks for the history.

Very familiar with that food court, too! Thanks for the comment!

I recently had jury duty at the courthouse and parked at the Galleria. I was looking forward to seeing it again during lunch breaks but was so disappointed that it was closed off. I spent many a childhood weekend in the 90s at this mall. We lived in the Bronx but made the trek to this glorious haven of capitalist excess often. Thanks for the homage to our collective memories!

I haven't spent much time here due to the shutdown but I found out that the mall looks really different inside now, its crazy. Someone filmed a horror project there. u can see if u search 'generation loss ep 3' on Youtube.
