I’m not sure if it’s officially branded as a “Pizza Hut Classic”, but the Pizza Hut in Montebello, CA (about 15 minutes east of Los Angeles) is a dine-in restaurant with a traditional red roof, red booth seating, brick walls, checkered tables, and a tv. I don’t believe it has the vintage lighting fixtures or a salad bar though.
This great post earned you a subscription, which I have already so thoroughly enjoyed. The original Pizza Hut where I grew up in Kingsport, TN (which is no longer there) was the site of wonderful times on Friday nights after football games. Your photographs of the Pizza Hut Classics took me back. Thank you for this wonderful story and list. (A report on the Hillsville, VA, location coming soon.)
This is an amazing list! Thank you for compiling it. I have yet to dine in a Pizza Hut Classic, although they have fascinated me for a while. I included them in an article I wrote about nostalgia earlier this year: https://heathracela.substack.com/p/manufactured-nostalgia
There are 2 great candidates for this in Arizona - Winslow & Williams both have classic stores but don’t (yet) have the full classic decor. Wish they would!
the PH in North Pole, Alaska is not a "Classic" but has most of the actual older interior (not reproduction)- the signage outside is the newer regular logos (also not Classic).
Why not in Kansas? Where it came from. They used to try out different concepts in Wichita. There was a Pizza Hut Cafe’ with menu items similar to Applebees. But the best concept was Fastino’s. It was a small building, drive through or walk up only, with a few outside tables. Back in high school we would race down there for pizza by the slice, calzones or oven baked subs😋
Hi! Checked online and def see the old-style building but not updated to look like a Classic. But the images could be out of date on Google. Are you nearby?
Man I really wish there was one near LA
Hopefully one turns up or converts. Looking!

Alas no! Please encourage the owner (if you are local) to make the retro change! California has NO Pizza Hut Classics and that's a shame!
There is one in Bunkie, LA
@Rjpete I’m pretty sure he meant Los Angeles

Yeah! That makes me so happy to hear. Thanks for the support and the memories ... and I look forward to your report!

Thank you Heath! I will add a link to your article in my roundup!
Awesome- thank you! And hopefully this list of restaurants grows with time too!
Check out the one in Columbia Falls, MT. It's not labeled as a 'classic', but it fits all the descriptors. Great list!
There’s one in Bristow, OK that’s not on your list.
Thank you! Just added!
116 S Bickett Blvd, US-401, Louisburg, NC 27549
This location here was recently renovated into a Classic. It's so recent that Google maps still shows the pre-renovation look.
Thank you! And neat video about it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lrq82mM5bhI
Love this article! I wanted to add that there may be a Pizza Hut Classic in Delhi, New York; I ate there last November.
Oh no! Appears to have closed. Sad.
I will check it out! Tnx Emily!

Me too! Let me know if that happens!
I vote Williams. There was one here in Flagstaff but it changed into some seafood place

There is a classic in Perry, OK. The new sign even says “Classic”. Thank you for compiling this list. So cool!
Thank you! Great tip, and adding it to the list right now! Happy Classic hunting!
We have one in Moab Utah

It appears they renovated this legacy store, but did not go "Classic." https://www.facebook.com/grandmererestaurantgroup/posts/pfbid0ueen136Xt7ANxu4jyAoRtsS5FrKrtStkYC35KsQWeukroYTFZ7k6xyL8rkxzMKtgl
Ahhh
I see the difference

Thank you! I feel I have to create a second category for stores like this -- not Classics, per se, but still old school.
I'm sure there are lots of hidden gems out there- it's a wide, pizza-loving world!
Sure is!!
Love it! I shared info about the Homosassa, FL one here ❤️

Right? Of all states there should be a perfect classic one in Kansas!
I thought there was one in Petersburg, West Virginia, too.
