Thank you for the update on the Starlite Deli sign. I had many breakfasts, iced coffees, and lunches there when I worked across the street at 1515 Broadway. Happy new year to you!
I don't know if it's going to be a tradition, but Milwaukie, Oregon dropped a Bing cherry this year to celebrate Bing cherries being first cultivated in Milwaukie.
There were a fair number of people there while we were there (which was early), enough to reasonably fill the block. Parking was getting far more scarce by the time we left. They had a band as well.

You bet Ashley! It's a relief to see that it's safe. And Happy New Year!
“The other shoe did drop”! 😂
Haha! Couldn’t resist!

Ooh! I love it! I've been to Milwaukie, a few years ago.
We didn’t stay all the way to the drop. It had a green stem but unfortunately that didn’t light up until we were driving away.
I included a couple of shots of the new cherry sculpture at the old city hall as well.
Very cool! The cherry sculpture is right up my alley too! Was there a decent turnout for the event?

Nice! Glad you checked this out ... great to see a new tradition (hopefully) born.
They also have a new permanent cherry sculpture in front of the old city hall.
